[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
Name: Zagi
Age: early 20s maybe :|
Gender: male
Canon: Tales of Vesperia
Timeline: On board the Heracles after Zagi has taken out the room of people and is confronting Yuri and the gang for his fourth encounter
Background:
http://aselia.wikia.com/wiki/Zagi
Personality:
The first thing that anybody will ever notice about Zagi is that he is completely barking mad which is a nicer way of putting it. Whether or not he is always like that is never really addressed though the characters to speculate when they did manage to defeat him in the end. The statement was put forward that perhaps Zagi truly believed Yuri to be the only one he could go up against at 100%. Though Yuri denied it, it is more than likely that something in his past contributed to the way he is with being obsessed with a man that managed to make him bleed. It is possible that his obsession with his work as an assassin leaves him very little room to be overwhelmed by anybody. Being accustomed to killing day after day would wear on a man's mind until his proficiency with what he is doing would become dull. Boring.
His obsession with people stems from this boredom of dealing with the untalented people he is meant to kill. When he fights somebody that puts up a genuine fight and manages to exceed somebody before him then he becomes obsessed with them. What that will take in Death City will have to be seen. It took Yuri Lowell making him bleed to put it in him that he was the person he needed to fight until he could kill him...which he never was able to do as he did end up dying in canon. In a place like this, it is likely running into Yuri would spark that desire to fight him to the death, but he could easily end up attaching himself to somebody else given the radically different surroundings and circumstances.
It is difficult to determine his relationship with anybody else given that his only moments in the game were five moments where the main cast has to fight him all five of those times. He takes what happens to him as a reason to go after the person that inflicted pain and injuries on him. After the second battle where he was presumed dead, he came back with some sort of prosthetic for his left arm and he blames Yuri for what happened. The arm seems to utilize a great control over aer with it, but is obviously misusing it as it alters him in such a way that is more apparent in the fifth and final battle before he dies. He is willing to do anything to win and it shows. There is also significant importance he has with impressing others with what he has, especially when it has to do with Yuri or somebody he considers his equal so to speak in terms of deserving to die by his hand.
His reasoning for what he does was not really touched upon in the game. There is no reference for anything to go on for what he was like when he was younger, what his parents were like, where he might have ended up without parents, or anything else. Many reasons could be justified with how he acts around other people. It can only be speculated on and it is doubtful that he would ever disclose anything to anybody about it given that the only thing that really gives him any drive is obsessing over those that are able to surpass him. He never truly feels alive unless he had an opponent. The stronger the opponent, the more he wants to kill them and will stop at nothing to achieve this.
In a place like Death City, it is hard to tell whether he would end up trying to finish the job by seeking out Yuri Lowell or if he will simply find something better to do. The idea of becoming a weapon may or may not sit well with him at first, but being able to be the on tearing others to pieces is potentially what will push him to accept this. Getting a partner is a whole other ballgame and it is likely he will go out of his way to try and force somebody into a partnership, so that he can get stronger and be able to kill more easily. In that sense, he would be able to work together with somebody as long as it benefits what he wants in the end. Whether or not he will turn out drastically different depends on who happens to befriend him, or rather try to befriend him
Why is your character a good fit for the setting of Soul Campaign, and what will they do once they are in the game?
Zagi is a wild card. He is an assassin in the game and his purpose for being there was mostly ambiguous beyond being obsessed at first with killing Flynn then with trying to kill Yuri because he happened to make him bleed. His obsessive attachments to those he finds interesting will definitely end up runing somebody's day. As it is unlikely he will be on the side of good, he would most likely find interest in whatever it is that the villains are doing. Whether or not he could be swayed from this will depend on those he meets. Finding people to tolerate him is a challenge that most would likely not wish to take.
List the abilities your character will still have in Soul Campaign:
Well Zagi is an assassin, so his prowess in battle will remain the same. It is not just about strength so much as it is about what he knows even with the aer from his world. As aer was their form of magic, he will obviously not have that here. He used handheld dagger-like blades in battle, so he is an expert with weapons such as that. As a Weapon himself, it will at least not leave him completely powerless if he had to defend himself without bothering to locate a Meister. His proficiency with weapons and his assassin abilities will remain with his unfortunate personality. He is very quick and very good at his profession. He does not have to be a Meister to be able to execute the same sort of "kill" moves he was and is accustomed to.
List the weaknesses your character will gain (or lose) in Soul Campaign:
Well his artificial left arm will be useless in terms of actually being able to grant him power, so that will definitely piss him off. Without aer here, his world's magic, he will not be able to cast anything. As mentioned above though, he is still an assassin and therefore cannot lose his ability to use skills he would have otherwise in terms of prowess. A weakness he would have would be to Madness if the Madness did not enhance his abilities. In the hands of a Meister that is afraid of Innocence however, he would likely end up having extremely poor resonance that would eventually ruin everything and put them both in jeopardy. Without his ability to befriend anybody on a level most would deem to be sane, it can either be impossible to befriend somebody or he will likely end up befriending those with their own version of insanity he can relate with.

Soul Description:
Unhinged, obsessed, vindictive, cruel, relentless, murderous
A red soul with his usual crazed gaze and smirk plastered on and the outline of his hair visible. It always gives off an air of complete chaos.
(Weapon Form) / Ability:
His Weapon form takes the shape of two handheld blades or daggers that he wields in the game. They are not identical in nature and are held in each hand. Since they cannot be separated when he transforms, they will be attached by a chain. The abilities he gained later on in the game due to what was in the artificial arm later on in the game are now going to be applied to the abilities of his Weapon form that will be mentioned later on. As a Meister resonating with him will already have enhanced speed, the main feature of his blades will be poison since he poisoned himself in the game just to harm the main characters.
Madness will actually increase the wielder's speed and make any hits made with him more damaging with the likelihood of driving most Meisters up the wall and eventually making resonation nearly impossible unless it is with a Meister with an ability to master Madness in some form or the ability to endure the craziness of it. It will greatly increase the endurance of the Meister though it will not lessen any wounds received. The wielder would notice however that they will hardly notice if they are being injured until it actually begins to take a toll on them physically. It will also add an additional bonus of being able to poison whatever being he is used against to allow for harder hits and dwindling health.
Shining Blastia Field is his Mystic Artes in the game and thus becomes his ultimate ability should he have perfect resonation with a Meister. As there is no aer here to manipulate, he will simply charge up energy after the Meister uses him to knock back whatever opponents or any innocent bystander are nearby. A very brief half a second or two later, the energy he has built up will release and rain down energy all around the Meister and himself. It will not distinguish between fellow Meisters and Weapons and enemies themselves. Technically everybody is fair game to Zagi anyways.
Basically first time resonation, assuming it is not disastrous from the start, will allow for the normal increase in speed. The Meister is able to add whatever flourish they wish to with whatever technique they wish to fight with. With increased resonation, there will be a greater ability to be able to absorb offensive magic and potentially cancel an attack before it would be able to be used against the Meister and himself. Eventually the resonation will manifest an ability that allows him to poison foes that are cut by the blades of those knives. Shining Blastia Field is something that will only occur with the right partner, the right resonation, and increased strength to be able to significantly damage multiple opponents after consuming more and more souls.

First-Person
Oh...so now somebody else wants to play? What sort of game is this anyways? I'd be happy to show whoever is responsible why they shouldn't be taking people away from their fun.
[He smirked as he said this, clearly not as angry as he might be conveying himself to be. He was in the middle of something though and interrupting that made that itch that needed scratching all the more irritating and frankly exciting.]
You know...if somebody's going to ruin my fun, I can at least expect them to show up here and show me why I should accept being brought here to fight somebody else's battles.
[He chuckled.]
Though it might be fun to come after the ones responsible....that sounds like fun.
Third-Person
Oh Yuri...how could he keep acting like he didn't want what they had? Zagi wanted his blood...he wanted to carve his name INTO his blood! He told him that every moment he had in different ways, but he just didn't seem to grasp how important their connection was! Did he need to grab one of those other people he had with him and murder them in the most lasting way possible? He wouldn't have a problem with that. No no no...he wouldn't have a problem with that at all! None! Murdering was just part of the beauty of it all! That was what had to be done to fuel the fire he knew to be in the hearts of all. How could Yuri hope to ever deny something so basic...so primal? He TRIED to make him see that through the people Zagi decided to use against him. He TRIED to do that and he was becoming more and more angry. It didn't feel right though. It didn't FEEL like he was getting it through the guy's head that this was NECESSARY for what they were destined to do. They were DESTINED to fight until one of them was dead! That was their DESTINY!
And it was his own destiny to beat Yuri. Maybe if Yuri would see all of that then he wouldn't be so foolishly stubborn then this would all work. This would all work out if he would let go of this pointless quest he was on. If he just let go of all that he felt he had this stupid obligation with these other people and just...just FOUGHT him then they would both achieve what they were MEANT to achieve! He just...he had to get to him this time! He had to make him SEE what he was missing out on when he didn't take him seriously enough! If he had to go beyond this fourth encounter, he was going to make sure it was the last. It would be the VERY last time that he wasted his time with running off and leaving him behind like he would just go away. THE VERY LAST! Oh just thinking about it right now drove him to such anger. He was so pissed off right now! He HATED it when people didn't take him seriously! He laid it all out there! It was so SIMPLE!
As he hurried to make his fourth appearance to his frustrating prey, he suddenly found himself in the middle of darkness all around him. What in the hell was this? The only thing he could focus on was Yuri, Yuri, Yuri and then this!
What was this? Was this a trick Yuri was playing on him right now/ Did he think he was going to fall for this? Whatever this was, and it HAD to be a trick of aer, he was not going to get all scared of this. There was no way he was going to let his guard down when the other was likely to attempt a surprise attack on him. Oh no no! No falling for that! He set himself to prepare to attack when he realized that his arm was not gathering any aer. There was absolutely nothing to absorb. Not only that....his daggers were gone! They were GONE! Was this another annoyance that Yuri cooked up? How did he take away everything for him to draw in? if he wanted hand-to-hand combat then he should have just SAID so!
And before he knew it, a screen popped up and some idiot appeared.
